    I’ve walked on that glacier! It’s quite a hell of a climb, but fun to walk on the ice.

    It’s true, though, that you should never approach it without a guide who knows what he’s doing. The year before I walked on the glacier two brothers approached the glacier, touched the ice, and it fell on them. Quite a few hundred tons, if I remember correctly.

    I did that too something like 20 years ago when that area was hardly developed into the tourist centre it is now. Had been back at least twice after that. The picture above was about 2-3 years before the accident involving the brothers.
